“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”
— Psalm 122:6

October 7, 2023 | A morning that changed Israel forever.

In a surprise attack, more than 1,200 people were killed, including children, women, men and elderly people, while 251 people were taken hostage. Entire families were torn apart. Homes and communities were destroyed, and once-thriving communities were left devastated in the aftermath.

The pain of that day continues to be felt by families and communities across Israel.

But in the midst of devastation, compassion can become action. Our church family came together with a desire to do more than simply watch the devastation from afar.

We prayed.

We gave.

We acted.

The preservation of life

Together, our church family sponsored an Emergency Response Scooter that serves on the ground in Israel, helping emergency personnel reach areas that can be difficult to access and provide vital assistance to people in need.

This scooter represents something much greater than a vehicle.

It represents a church family saying:

“We will not stand by when people are hurting.”

It is our tangible expression of compassion for those affected by ongoing conflict and attacks, and our commitment to helping emergency responders reach people when every second matters.

WE WILL KEEP PRAYING

Our support for Israel does not end with what we can give.

We continue to lift the people of Israel before the Lord.

We pray for the families who continue to grieve.

We pray for those who have been wounded and displaced.

We pray for emergency responders who courageously serve others.

We pray for those whose lives have been forever changed.

And we pray for peace, protection, healing and the preservation of life.
