Hurricane Melissa Relief & Rebuild Initiative
Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica on October 28, 2025, making landfall as a Category 5 hurricane—the most powerful storm ever to directly hit the island. At peak strength, it brought sustained winds of up to 185 mph (295 km/h) and an extremely low central pressure, making it one of the most intense Atlantic hurricanes on record.
Hurricane Melissa swept across Jamaica with devastating force, leaving a trail of destruction, loss, and heartbreak. Communities across the island are grieving loved ones, searching for stability, and working to rebuild what was torn apart in moments. Among the hardest-hit regions was Clarendon, where the storm’s powerful winds ripped through homes, businesses, and places of worship.
One of the affected houses of faith is the local church in Clarendon, whose roof was completely torn away, leaving the sanctuary exposed and its worshippers displaced. What was once a spiritual home—filled with praise, fellowship, and hope—now stands open to the sky, its congregation left to gather in the aftermath with heavy hearts but unwavering faith.
In this time of great need, The Prayer Palace stands in full solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Jamaica. With our ministry partners and volunteers on ground, we are committed to taking immediate action.
