OPERATION HAITI
Launching on Sunday, September 5th, Pastor Tom Melnichuk of The Prayer Palace Church will be en route to fulfill "our share". Our goal is to aid, support and minister to the people of Haiti since the earthquake disaster, which took place a few months ago. We are keeping Pastor Tom and his team in prayer as they travel to Haiti at this time. Here are a few facts about Haiti:
• Population of over 9,000,000.
• Less clean water than Ethiopia.
• The third-highest hunger rate in the world.
• An inaffective, disinterested government.
• Hungry Haitian children eat tree bark, weeds, charcoal, ashes, and rocks.
• Children die of starvation, malnutrition, infections, parasites, and malaria.
• The poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
• The people's hunger keeps them poor.
• Adult life expectancy averages 59 years.
• Adult illiteracy rate is over 75%.
• Less than 2% of the population is sustainably employed with a living wage.

Doing our share...
May we keep all those who were present during this recent earthquake disaster in Haiti in our daily prayers as prayer is the most powerful and valuable relief supply we can all offer.
As we turn to Christ Jesus, the healer of all, for strength, hope and comfort. As we continue to pray for the Haitian survivors from the devastating 7.0 magnitude-earthquake just 7 weeks ago, we The Prayer Palace Church are acting on our faith and prayer. With millions of lives affected and thousands who currently remain homeless, we are executing our mission project to rebuild the faith in Haiti.
We are committed to mending the broken spirit and restoring hope to those that are in need in Haiti. It's important that our congregation have a place to worship and we are ambitiously pursuing the reconstruction of one of many churches that have been devastated. Our joy will be when the people of that now broken down church can once again walk through its door and lift holy hands to a holy God in a holy place again.
Many weeks have gone by, we must not forget Haiti in our prayers for they are still in need of recovery and reconstruction. Our goals are set in three stages, the first which we are currently engaged:
1) Finalizing logistics, preparing and planning a base station of operation;
2) To rebuild the churches physically and spiritually with the support of our faithful congregation; and lastly
3) To maintain the strength and enrich the lives of the people of the specific church that has been rebuilt.
Around the world many devastations are taking place, these are signs of the times. We shall remember to keep all those in need in our prayers. As we hear and see the destruction, panic and pondering of the lives that have been affected, we remain vigilant and vigorous with prayer and support.
We are the Prayer Palace Church with a passion for Christ and compassion for people.fort, let us move forward in contributing to the rebuilding and relief efforts of the Haitian people.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith – Galatians 6:10

The Prayer Palace Church responds to crisis in Haiti
January 22, 2010, TORONTO – As international aid agencies and first responders tend to the immediate needs of the people of Haiti, The Prayer Palace Church of Toronto, a multinational congregation, is preparing their own humanitarian relief effort.
Assistant Pastor, Tom Melnichuk is overseeing The Prayer Palace’s relief activities.
“We’re preparing for a late February-early March departure to Haiti,” says Tom. “Our efforts are focused on looking past the immediate crisis and helping the people of Haiti recover and rebuild.”
Churches have crumbled, homes caved in and human lives have been lost in the recent Haiti earthquake disaster. The Prayer Palace’s relief efforts will provide supplies such as tents, food, water, sleeping bags and more.
“Being a church, we also believe that faith will be an important factor in helping Haiti recover,” says Tom. “That’s why we’ll be helping to reconstruct churches with our efforts as well.”
“It’s important that we pray for the people of Haiti,” says Tom. “But it’s also important to act.”
